Privacy Policy

Prayer Screen is a Scripture app. It does not need to know much about you, so it asks for very little and keeps most of what it holds on your iPhone.

The short version

We do not sell your data, and we do not run ads. Your verses, saved passages, streak and lock rules live on your device and in your own iCloud account. We never see which apps you block, and we cannot read them.

What we collect

You can use Prayer Screen without giving us your name, email address or phone number. Two kinds of information reach us:

  • Diagnostics. If the app crashes, Apple may send us a report describing what the app was doing when it failed. These reports are tied to a device, not to you.
  • Anonymous usage counts. Aggregate numbers, such as how many people added a widget in a given week, so we know which parts of the app are worth improving. These counts cannot be traced back to an individual.

If you write to support, we hold your message and your email address so we can answer you.

What stays on your device

The following is stored on your iPhone and, if you have iCloud enabled, synced through your own iCloud account. We have no access to it:

  • Saved verses, highlights and notes
  • Reading plan progress, streaks and freezes
  • Widget appearance, themes and verse preferences
  • Which apps you have chosen to lock, and the hours you set

Screen Time and app blocking

The lock feature is built on Apple's Screen Time API. When you grant permission, iOS gives the app an opaque token for each app you select. The token cannot be reversed into an app name, and it never leaves your device.

In practice this means we cannot tell which apps you block, how often you open them, or how long you spend in them. iOS enforces the rules; Prayer Screen only shows the verse and the prayer in front of them.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled locally by your iPhone. If you turn notifications off, in the app or in iOS Settings, nothing is sent and nothing is logged.

Purchases

Subscriptions to Prayer Screen Plus are handled by Apple through your App Store account. Apple processes the payment and tells us whether a subscription is active. We never receive your card number or billing address.

Who else sees it

We share information only with the services needed to run the app, and only for that purpose:

  • Apple — App Store purchases, iCloud sync, crash reports and notification delivery
  • Our analytics provider — anonymous, aggregated usage counts
  • Our email provider — support correspondence, if you write to us

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. If we are legally required to disclose something, we will say so publicly unless the law forbids it.

How long we keep it

Anonymous usage counts are retained for up to 24 months. Crash reports are retained for up to 12 months. Support email is kept for as long as it is useful for answering follow-up questions, and then deleted.

Your choices

Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. To remove synced content, delete Prayer Screen data from iCloud in iOS Settings. Analytics can be turned off in the app under Settings, and iOS app-level tracking controls apply as well.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Write to us and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

Prayer Screen is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date above and note the change in the app before it takes effect.
